None of the above photos were taken in Mozambique We may go our whole mission without seeing a lion or elephant (though we do retain hope for a hippopotamus)--but the pictures are not without relevance--we did take them, just not here. It was a year ago today, that we began our trip-of-a-lifetime to Africa--safaris, culture, beaches, and spectacular scenery all included. Quitting work and serving a mission were the farthest thing from our minds. But the piece of Africa that we saw (Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa), and the people that we met all profoundly impressed us. With a little encouragement at critical moments, our plans and visions of the future were transformed and here we are (again).
Happy New Year to all--we are hoping that our 2012 involves less transition for us than did 2011.
Great photos from last year. We never know what effect certain decisions will have on our lives. Enjoy 2012 without your favorite animals ggh
